Tiny pinhole cameras discovered in London ATM’s

City of London Police have recently located pinhole cameras in 4 separate locations across the City of London in the last week.

The tiny cameras are hidden in panels within the cash machines where pin numbers can be recorded through minute “pin head” size holes.

The problem is not only confined to London. Lancashire police have also issued warnings, that so-called ‘skimming devices’ had been found on machines in the region.

In Lancashire,  machines prevented cards from being ejected, while similar cameras to those found in London recorded the users’ pin.

Police are advising that, “Before using the machine, check if there are any loose parts on or around it – the card slot, keypad and anything above the keypad area. If in doubt, please contact bank staff and consider using a different machine.”
